We Are…
Kemsing Lawn Tennis Club is a friendly, welcoming tennis club that has been at the heart of the village since 1928. We have four floodlit tennis courts and a new clubhouse and an ample car park. The club has over 130 adult members, and 50+ junior members.
As a member, you can expect a very warm welcome whether you are picking up a racket for the first time or the next Emma Raducanu. We host club and social play evenings on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 630pm, and on Saturday and Sunday afternoons where members can turn up and play. We usually see between 12-20 attend these sessions. Following the pandemic we have re-established coaching on a Wednesday and Thursday for all junior age groups/standards and adults.
Kemsing has seven teams that play in the North Kent league, and both our Men’s first and second team won their respective divisions earlier this year – both gaining promotion as well as the titles. We have two ladies teams and three mixed doubles teams also competing in the Summer and Winter leagues. For the first time, the Men’s team is competing in the AEGON National league.
Every Summer we run a club tournament which includes eight categories across singles and doubles, including veterans and super vets (60+). The tournament culminates in Finals day mid September and it’s the biggest day of the year socially. In addition to 8 finals matches, the day is attended by many members who enjoy drinks in the sunshine and delights from the BBQ. We organise a variety of social events throughout the year including Strawberry teas, American Tournaments, dinners etc. Please do come down and join us on the day.
Anyone can attend the club three times, before being required to join, to try things out. Once you have joined, new members are offered free coaching to support their development and enhance their enjoyment. Come and see for yourself… Membership information and online registration can be found here.
